    Samsung TV`s UE32J5500AK and UE48H6400AK Red Standby Light - No Picture/Sound

Hi, I'm new here and looking for some advice on how to diagnose an issue i have with 2 samsung TVs.

I have a UE32J5500AK and a UE48H6400AK both with the same issue of red light but nothing happening on the screen, the red light responds to remote or button press by flashing once but stays red. I have searched forums but most turn up a blinking red light.

I have tried replaceing the power board on the UE32J5500AK last year but this resulted in the same outcome.
The UE48H6400AK recently developed some small bright areas on the screen, then last week would not power up displaying the same symptoms as the UE32J5500AK, i appreciate that the 2 issues may not be the same but i would like to diagnose the correct parts to replace.

I have replaced a power board previousy on another TV and have minimal skills electronically but can use a meter to test etc

    Thanks
    Simon

First test, unhook cable from powerboard to mainboard, plug power cord in, see if backlights come on and stay on, need at least a focused picture of each board and one of the whole back including all the boards.

Removed cable from power board that was hooked up to the main board, plugged power cable in and the back lights came on and stayed on?

How did you manage to disconnect the cable between the power supply and the motherboard on the UE32J5500AK, if this board is two in one (motherboard + power supply)?

Disconnected the white 8 pin connector assuming it was going to a main board. Can the power be removed on a 2 in 1?

vinceroger69 nomoresonys do you guys have any advice on the next step to diagnose the fault on the UE48H6400AK?

Seems like the UE32J5500AK is a different setup and has a 2 in 1 main/power board and i was unable to remove power to complete the test, is there any other test i can complete for this setup?

Да, серия xxH6xxx играется со слётом прошивки, иногда помогает только перепрошить 25Q40, бывает что и в eeprom 24C512 и в eMMC.

Can this be resolved by replacing the mainboard? From a translation of your reply, flashing is possibly out of my skill set of special tools are required.

yes a mainboard swap should work fine just make sure you match all the numbers up from on your old mainboard and make sure you buy a board with a returns policy just incase it arrives faulty

For model UE32J5500AK, if you have a programmer, you can try to reprogram flash 25Q40.

lotas i dont have these tools unfortunately, would a full main/power board swap fix this (its possible the main board i swapped initially could have been faulty also)

                                          Hello all ~

I’m working on this Samsung 60” LED and purchased a new main board a couple of days ago that did not fix the 5 blink issue. The original main board’s HDMI ports (all 4 of them) failed to work and no amount of reflow remedied that.

This 5 red light blink code on the front panel LED is followed (about 15-20 seconds afterward) by an automatic reboot, and results in 5 more red light blinks. Then the entire cycle repeats itself indefinitely.

                                          No picture. No sound.

I tested all the voltages coming out of the power supply...

                                          Hi, I have a Samsung UE50TU with:
                                          - sound and backlight, but no picture
                                          - when it arrived, it had a picture for a few seconds
                                          - it keeps rebooting
                                          - without ribbon cable between the two panel boards, it does not reboot but I have no picture
                                          - without cable between mainboard and lcd panel, it does not reboot (but obviously i have no picture)
                                          - when i try a tape fix, its keeps rebooting, unless I tape off pin 1 (the innermost pin). In that case it does not reboot but I have no picture.

                                          - without cable between mainboard and lcd panel and with a jumpered...

I have a 60 inch Samsung UN60EH6000F flatscreen TV. The screen went black a few months ago Sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. I replaced the TCon board with a used board purchased from Ebay. It worked fine for a 3-4 months, then the screen started ‘fading' back. Once again, sound is good, backlight is good, no menu. However, this time the picture looks fine for about 10-15 minutes, then fades back. If I power cycle the TV, the display reappears, for another 10-15 minutes, then fades black again. Repeatable ever time.

I ordered a supposedly ‘new' Tcon board this time, and

                                          Hello everyone,
Ive got a UE60KU6079 on the workbench that is giving me some headaches trying to troubleshoot.
The previous owner stated that there had been white dots on the screen which from the description sounded like some lenses fell of the backlight LEDs.
He had opened the TV from the back, trying to get to the backlight, supposedly gave up, reassebled everything and gave the TV to me.
I expected the worst like ripped COF cables or a cracked panel but could not find anything like that yet.
Anyway I still fully expect that there has been something seriously damaged...

                                          Hi all

I was just given a Samsung TV with the issue. I read various threads and videos and attempted the ribbon tape method to gain an image, but no luck.

                                          Symptom:
                                          No picture no sound.
When I plug in the power cord, Backlight LED turns on for a half second and then turns off. The red LED next to the power button located center bottom flashes 2 or 3 times. When the power button is pressed after, it does the same thing.
                                          No sound at all.

                                          What I tried:
                                          1. I tried unplugging the left or right ribbon...
